$2 for espresso-style coffee. You'd be hard-pressed to find something like this anywhere else.

At Kopi More, that’s where - albeit in a hawker centre setting. Here, you’ll find this magical blend of Columbian Arabica & Indonesian Robusta specially formulated by the owner, Mr Lawrence.

The menu is simple: kopi, teh or yuan yang. Hot or iced. That’s it. But when your product is good, that’s just about all you really need. 

And while he looks really serious when he works, beneath that demeanour, Mr Lawrence is a really warm & polite gentleman.

His coffee-brewing process is methodical. 5 scoops of freshly-ground coffee into the portafilter, apply some pressure to ensure the powder is closely-packed, then 1 final scoop of coffee powder before it is placed in the espresso machine. A drizzle of condensed milk & a trickle of evaporated milk later, you get a full-bodied, aromatic cup of coffee, Nanyang-style. No fanciful latte-art necessary - simple but good. 

Regulars says the queue can go up to 20 pax long. But go at an off-peak day/timing and you could get your cuppa within minutes, just like lucky me.
